Global Talent Visa
UK Talent visa allows its holders to work in the UK if they are leaders or potential leaders in arts and culture, academia and research, or digital technology. Before you decide to apply for a Talent visa Tier 1, you need to apply for an endorsement that proves you are a leader or a potential leader in the abovementioned fields. Only after you receive your endorsement successfully, you can apply for a Global Talent visa. The earliest it can be is three months before you travel to the UK. For example, you can apply from 17 April if you plan to travel on 16 July. Typically, applicants get their visa decisions within three weeks if they are outside the UK and eight weeks if they are inside the UK. Faster visa decision services are available for an extra fee, both outside the UK and inside the UK.
It is possible to apply for the Global Talent visa at the same time as you apply for the endorsement. Though, it can be safer to apply after you have your endorsement confirmed. It is also worth mentioning, that if your permission to stay in the UK is about to expire, applying for the visa will extend it.
If you apply for your visa and your endorsement at the same time, and your endorsement is refused, your Global Talent visa will be refused as well. Unfortunately, you will lose the fees for both services.
The fee for a UK Global visa application is £152, and £97 for nationals of Turkey or North Macedonia. Your partner and children (‘dependants’) can be included on the same application form if they are eligible for this. An extra cost of £608 must be paid for each of your dependants. Healthcare surcharge is another obligatory payment as it is a part of your visa application. Usually, it is £400 per year for each person applying, but you can calculate the amount you will need to pay.
When applying for your Global Talent visa you need to provide: a valid passport or other travel identification, your tuberculosis test results (if needed), and a blank page in your passport for your visa. Certified translation of any documents that are not in English or Welsh is a must.
